E S D School Visit
.....................................................................................................................................................

In November 2010, Janie visited Episcopal School of Dallas (Lower School: Grades 1-4). With the warm welcome from the entire staff and the flawless organization by Lower School Librarian, Bonnie Tollefson, Janie had an incredible school visit! (Special thanks to Jackson Farmar for his emcee talents!)

Janie read KIKI'S BLANKIE and THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN TEXAS. Janie and the students talked about story arcs, and each grade “created” their own character. They even sang THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS IN TEXAS song! What wonderful voices those ESD students have!
After Janie’s visit, she held a
contest to see who could come up with the most creative story and/or the most creative illustration (of a character).

And the winners are: all the students who wrote stories and drew pictures of their characters!

But, two of the
most creative stories were written by 2nd-grader Juliette Traweek and 4th-grader Taezja Phelan! And the best drawings of a character were created by 3rd-grader Brodie Burke!

Congratulations writers and artists! Keep up the great creative work, ESD!
