Of course I’d prefer to visit you and your students, live and in-person! But, in this age of economic hardship and cut-backs in funding, sometimes an in-person visit just isn’t financially feasible for a school or organization.

So, what is a virtual visit? If your classroom, media room, or auditorium has live video capabilities via computer, we can use Skype for short, “interview” visits. I can see and talk to your class and your class can see and talk to me! Students can "tour" a little of my studio and ask questions (pre-arranged by the teacher or librarian prior to the virtual visit).

For a longer visit, I describe a bit about how I create children’s books—from concept and writing through finished art for book production. (The discussion is age-appropriate, geared to a specific age-group.)

This is a great set-up to bring in a visiting expert on children’s writing and illustration to older students—including adult groups interested in writing and/or art for children.
